Key Background

The Honda XL750 Transalp returns to the Indian market as a long-awaited middleweight adventure bike. First launched in the 1980s, the Transalp series became a global favorite as a tough but dependable tourer able to travel across varied terrains. For 2025, Honda has brought in the latest generation of this iconic model as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit from Japan, fusing the latest technology with the essence of the original.

Thumping at the heart of the 2025 XL750 Transalp is a 755cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor, the same motor that powers the Honda CB750 Hornet. The motor churns out 90 horsepower and 75 Nm of torque, delivering muscular mid-range and silky-smooth top-end powerband. With a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch, the engine delivers a thrilling yet do-it-all ride experience well-suited for city commutes, highway stints, and dirt track riding.

The bike is supported by a Showa 43mm USD front fork and Pro-Link mono-shock rear suspension, which is highly adjusted to provide a wide range of riding types. Front and rear 21-inch and 18-inch spoke wheels are equipped with dual-purpose tires, which reflect the off-road ability of the bike.

There are also advanced electronics such as Honda’s Throttle-By-Wire system, where five modes of rider-configurable riding are available: Sport, Standard, Rain, Gravel, and User. These can adjust power delivery, engine braking, and traction control. The 5-inch color TFT screen features smartphone integration through Honda RoadSync, providing access to navigation, phone calls, and audio.

Safety features include dual-channel ABS, an Emergency Stop Signal function to alert other motorists if there is sudden braking, and automatic-cancel turn signals. LED lighting and advanced ergonomics offer visibility and comfort.

In India, the XL750 Transalp comes in two colors—Ross White and Matte Ballistic Black. Its Gurugram ex-showroom price is ₹10.99 lakh. It rivals in a category led by the likes of the BMW F 850 GS, Triumph Tiger 900, and Suzuki V-Strom 800DE. With capability in balance and tech-laden profile, the Transalp is a premium product for adventure enthusiasts who want reliability, performance, and comfort from a single dynamic package.
