Background:

Einride, an electric truck company from Stockholm, plans to list on the New York Stock Exchange through a deal with Legato Merger Corp. The deal will raise $219 million, and the company may get up to $100 million more from investors. Trading will start in early 2026.

Einride, founded in 2016, works in seven countries and has more than 25 clients, including GE Appliances and Swedish online pharmacy Apotea. The company operates about 200 electric trucks and holds the necessary permits in both the U.S. and Europe.

CEO Roozbeh Charli said the company has proven its technology and built strong customer trust, and this deal will help expand its global operations and improve service.

Einride has been recognized on the CNBC Disruptor 50 list for three consecutive years, ranking No. 24 in 2025. The company has done 1,700 hours of driverless work, driven 11 million electric miles, and delivered 350,000 shipments.

Its technology helps reduce emissions and make electric trucking affordable. Key partners are PepsiCo, Heineken, and Mars, and it plans to use 300 electric trucks in Europe by 2030.

Einride competes with other autonomous trucking companies, such as Aurora Innovation and Waabi, while continuing to expand its U.S. operations, its second-largest market. The company has partnered with DP World in the UAE to set up the Middle East’s largest autonomous electric truck fleet at Jebel Ali port.

Eric Rosenfeld, Legato’s SPAC chief, said Einride’s strong customer base, approvals, and technology make it well-positioned to transform the freight industry.
