India is expected to contribute 15-20% of GlobalLogic’s global business in the near future, driven by increasing demand from North America and Western Europe.

India accommodates close to 50% of the workforce globally at GlobalLogic and has more than 15,000 employees and is planning further expansion in tier II and tier III cities.

North America constitutes 60% of the company’s market, but Asia, particularly India, is where the company is experiencing rapid growth as a key market for engineering and IT services.

Key Background:

GlobalLogic, a leading provider of digital engineering services company under the umbrella of the Hitachi Group, expects India to soon account for 15-20% of the overall global business, president and CEO Nitesh Banga said. This growth has been driven by the rising demand for IT services, innovation-based engineering, and next-generation product development, predominantly coming from North America and Western Europe.

Banga stresses that the Asia-Pacific region is important for the company, and India is one of the key parts of this engineering giant. The company expects to grow faster in India as it has become a major hub for several clients from the US and Europe, with almost 50% of GlobalLogic’s global employees based in India.

According to Piyush Jha, MD and CEO of India & APAC at GlobalLogic, the company works with more than 15,000 people in India and will enlarge its reach to tier II and tier III towns in the country. There are more than 30,000 employees globally, and India is going to be one of the most important geographies in the expansion of the company, becoming increasingly dominant in the engineering operations of the business.

Recently, clients of GlobalLogic, particularly in Eastern Europe, have shown interest in leveraging India’s strength in core IT services and innovation-based engineering. The growth seen by the company in Japan over the last few years is also noteworthy. Banga emphasized that significant Japanese companies such as Suzuki, Honda, Mitsubishi, and Hitachi have a huge presence in India, making the market even more important for GlobalLogic.

India has significantly crossed 50% of all the engineering bench marks for us at GlobalLogic,” said Jha. The business for Global Capability Centers has experienced significant growth,

doubling over the past two years, with expectations to achieve the same growth rate within the next two years. Revenue from Indian and APAC operations is projected to reach US$1 billion by 2027.

In sync with its expansion strategy, GlobalLogic announced the setting up of a new delivery center in Hyderabad. It would add 2,000 more workforce members in the coming next three years. It had set up its facility much earlier in Noida, Nagpur, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and other cities in order to reassert a strong and meaningful presence. The growth story has strengthened India’s strategic position for GlobalLogic worldwide and makes the country its flagship location for digital and engineering services offerings.
